Loosen the connecting screw locknut #6. Next, locknut #1, then screw #2 which attaches the throttle lever (4) to the fuel injection pump regulating spindle (3). |

| Place speed control lever in the wide open throttle position | |||
|
Turn connecting screw (5) clockwise until the slot in the upper end is parallel with the governor lever and the punch mark is facing the cylinder block. |

Using the slot provided, turn the fuel injection pump regulator spindle (3) clockwise until it stops. Use light pressure or damage to the fuel injection pump may occur. |

| With the regulating spindle closed, tighten the throttle lever fastening screw (2). | ![]() | ||
| Note: Tighten without moving the throttle lever. After tightening the screw, tighten the locknut (1). | |||
| Rotate the connecting screw 90° counterclockwise so its slot is perpendicular to the governor lever. | ![]() | ||
| Holding the connecting screw in this position, tighten the locknut. | ![]() | ||
| NOTE: After adjustment, perform the following: | |||
| 1. If necessary, bleed all air from the fuel system. | |||
| 2. Place speed control lever in the wide open throttle position, actuate the decompression lever and turn the engine. The sound of injection should be heard. | |||
| 3. Place the speed control lever in stop position. | |||
| 4. Again turn the engine. This time the sound of injection should NOT be heard. If the pump is still injecting at this time it is likely the engine will over-rev. Do not attemp to start the engine. Perform governor adjustment procedure over. | |||
